This summer, I had a wonderful studio session with Brynna, a Class of 2011 senior from Hebron High School. Brynna was so sweet and cute during the session, and her smile lit up the room. And as you can tell, she really loves the Jonas Brothers and her time being on the Silver Wings Drill Team at Hebron.

This past summer I had the honor to photograph Anna-Marie, a Class of 2011 senior from Plano Senior High School! Her cousin, Nicole, was a Class of 2011 senior model for me, and these two best friends decided to have a Trash the Dress photo shoot together.

We all had so much fun!! I took some amazing photos of this lovely young woman. She was so happy and surprised how good she was at giving me that "model look."

Now I am REALLY behind on posting senior photos from this past summer and fall! I am determined to catch up and post all my 2011 seniors!!

2011 Seniors: It's not too late to have your senior photos taken!!! You have all spring before you graduate to get fantastic senior photos, too!!

First up from this past June is Brittany from Hebron High School!

Brittany is a talented dancer who is also on Hebron's Color Guard team. She has a bubbly, smiling personality, and I loved her laugh!! We had a ton of fun on her photo shoot, and captured some stunning shots on her Skyscape shoot!!

Product Spotlight: Custom Wallet Boxes

I'm going to start highlighting some of my new and unique senior products in my blog. I'm always on the lookout for that unique boutique senior item that you can't buy in a regular store!

Today, I am spotlighting my new Custom Wallet Boxes!

These are new custom, designed boxes to hold you wallets in, featuring your senior photos and having several different box designs to choose from.

They come in two finishes: satin and metallic (metallic is my personal favorite).

Also, they come in two sizes: a smaller size that holds around 50 wallets, and a larger size that holds 100.

Perfect Time For Family Portraits

When was the last time your family had a professionally photographed family portrait?

For most people, they have family portraits taken on average around 4 or 5 times in their lives (some have them taken every year).

First: When the kids are young (babies or grade school age).
Second: When your youngest or oldest child is about to graduate high school.
Third: When a child gets married
Fourth: When grandbabies start to enter the picture.

Lauren's Senior Photos -- Dallas Senior Portraits

Lauren just blew me away!

It's a rare treat for me to get a high school senior who is as into vintage clothing and photography as Lauren and her mother, Laurie, are!

So Lauren brought me a vintage 1940's coat dress, hat with veil, and a vintage 1940's suitcase with all original travel stickers.

Lauren is one of those seniors who just has "it" in regards to being posing perfectly and easily, and having a gorgeous face that looks like she could have easily been a 1940's movie starlet, while looking totally at ease in the modern world. She rocked her vintage photos, her modern studio photos, and we had a TON of fun with my first Trash the Dress session of the season!

Lauren is one of my favorite seniors from the Class of 2010!

Pablos Family Portraits

Theresa was the senior I took the snow photos of in February, and in May the entire family came back to have some fun family portraits taken!

I suggested we use the creek where I take Trash the Dress photos, for an usual natural location.

As you can see from the photos, the Pablos family had a lot of fun, and we got some great portraits out of the experience! I will get the chance to take the family's youngest daughter, Carly's, senior photos in a couple of years, when she graduates with the Class of 2012!

Victoria is strong, smart, beautiful, and has great taste in clothes and can pose effortlessly. So of course her senior photos turned out great!

Victoria is from the Class of 2010, and we photographed in Deep Ellum and in studio. She was one of the first seniors to try out my Ring Light, and it has been the biggest hit of the year for me. EVERY senior wants photos with the Ring Light!

Aeysha was lucky senior #2, as she came in a couple of days after our big snow storm in February, and still got a few snow shots right before the snow melted.

Theresa's Senior Photos -- Dallas Senior Portraits

Theresa was one lucky senior in February of 2010, when we took her senior photos!!

We had a record-breaking 12 inches of snow on the day she came for her photo shoot, the most snow Dallas had EVER had in it's 150 year old history!

So after we did her indoor photos, I asked if she wanted to go down the street to a local park and take some photos playing in the snow!

With Theresa's dance background on the Bishop Lynch Drill Team, she looked pretty graceful out there in the snow! We were freezing and getting soaked with the big, fat snowflakes pouring down on us, but we were having so much fun that we didn't want to stop! When we couldn't feel our fingers or toes anymore, we had to come in.

It's so great to get the chance to create truly unique senior photos that NO other senior at her high school got to get! (We never get snow like this in Dallas, so senior photos in the snow are pretty much unheard of!)

Theresa's Dad was soooo happy with the snow photos! He said he had always dreamed of photos of his daughters playing in the snow! Theresa is from the Class of 2010 at Bishop Lynch High School!

Thompson Family Photos

What a fun family!! This is my 2010 Senior Model Courtney's family portrait! I wanted to get some new sample family portraits in, and the Thompson family was more than game!

We managed to get some gorgeous shots of the family near sunset, with the "sweet light" filtering through the forest trees for a magical family portrait! Such cute girls, and both parents were so adorable together (still acting like teenagers in love!!).

Harris Family Portraits

I had taken Stephanie's senior portraits a month earlier when the Harris family decided it was time to get a family portrait taken!!

A child's senior year is the PERFECT time to have a family portrait taken, as often the family has not had a family portrait taken since the kids were little. This is SUCH an important time that needs to be captured, not only with great senior portraits but with a great family portrait as well.

Soon your senior is going off on their own new life adventures, perhaps to a different state or even out of the country, and you may not have another chance for a professionally photographed family portrait until they get married and have kids!

Volunteers Needed For Twilight Senior Photo Shoot

Love Twilight? I do, too, so I've decided that I need two or three Class of 2010 Twilighters who would love to volunteer for a Twilight themed indoor senior photo shoot!

What are the requirements to apply?

1) You MUST be a Class of 2010 Senior in the Dallas area who has NOT had their Senior Photos taken yet (yearbook photo doesn't count).

2) You must own some Twilight gear, other than the books, such as Twilight t-shirts, LARGE movie posters (posters from the book don't count), or any other Twilight merchandise. This would be featured strongly in the Twilight photo shoot.

3) The Twilight photo shoot must take place in September.

What do you get for being my volunteer? You will get not only get an indoor Twilight Photo Shoot for free, but you will get ALL your indoor senior photos taken for free as well (e.g. NO indoor session fees). *

I had the chance to photograph Becca's older brother, Cody, just a couple of months ago for his senior photos. Cody's family loved the photos so much, Becca immediately signed up to be one of my Class of 2010 Senior Models for Hebron High School!

Brand New Skyscape Extreme Safari Session!!

I just recently got some cool new powerful lights that I can use for some killer outdoor lighting, and decided to take my Class of 2010 Senior Model Maddy out for some great photos in her prom dress.

I liked it so much, I made a new Session Style for it called a Skyscape.

What is a Skyscape? It's basically where I take you up on a hill, and I take some fantastic shots of you with the wide open sky as your backdrop, for really great panoramic photographs that are PERFECT for wall portraits.

And it's not just for seniors in their prom dresses or formal wear! You can also take your musical instrument up on the hill for some awesome shots, or wear your sports uniform, or any other interest you have! Show off who you are!!

I finally got a chance to photograph a few of my varsity sports senior models for my brand new senior product, Hot Shots!

These are not only for seniors involved in sports, but seniors who are also musicians (band, orchestra, rock and roll, etc).

Really, it can be for ANY high school activity.

This is a black and white 15x30 print in a simple black wooden frame, including a saying of your choice. You can also purchase the print as a gallery wrap canvas without the saying and the grunge frame for a classy, more upscale, alternative choice!

Scott Family Photos

The day after Thanksgiving, I went over to the Scott's home to take some family portraits of the whole family. With two of the Scott kids now in college, it was very important to capture the whole family together before the kids are off and gone for good! I've known the Scotts for a few years, and they're a great family, with very talented kids and warm hearts!

We started out with a few photos outside, even though it was a little chilly, and then went inside for more group and individual portraits. I always believe in family portraits that Mom and Dad deserve as much attention as the kids, because most of the time, they haven't had a professional portrait together since they were first married.

The portraits were even featured on the family's custom-designed Christmas cards that were sent out to friends, family, and business associates. They turned out GORGEOUS!

I believe in the white glove treatment, where nothing goes out the door without being gift wrapped for delivery! It's just another level of fantastic customer service that I want to give in a world where great customer service is becoming harder and harder to find!

Furry Winter Fun!!

Winter is the perfect time to wear furry coats, vests, and hoodies! You can do so many cute things with them!

And want to know a little secret? You can wear summer clothes in winter for your senior indoor shoot, and winter clothes in summer for your senior indoor shoot. Or you can just go wild and wear the clothes that match the outdoor weather. No one will ever know when you actually had your photos done!

What matters most is picking the clothes that flatter you the best and are your favorites, whether they are summer or winter clothes, or a little of both!

Here is a recent holiday photo shoot with the Honrales family!! I usually try to not only photograph the family as a group, but the kids together and individually, and a few shots of Mom and Dad!

I am working on a family/children website that should hopefully be up in the next month or two, due to the increase in the number of family portrait requests I have been getting.

Jazz Coolness!

Here's Victor from Plano Senior High. He plays the Cello in the Plano Senior High Orchestra, so we figured we'd cool up a shot that might have been just a little too formal by adding a vintage fedora and some vintage style dramatic lighting.

And VOILA! We have a cool Jazz-playing dude who is the talk of his classmates! His friends couldn't stop talking about these photos!

If you play a musical instrument, come on in to see what cool and creative things we can do with you, too! We can even combine your Music Fantastic Senior Session Style with one of our Outdoor Safaris for some awesome on-location shots! We could do an urban shoot, go into the flowering fields in the spring, all kinds of musical coolness can be had!

411 Cards

Ever make some new friends (in person), and scramble to find a piece of paper and something to write with to give them your contact information? Then you end up writing it all down on the back of an old receipt with a pen that barely works, and the new friend loses said scrap or can't remember who you are by name, and you never hear from them again?

Never fear! We have a solution for that, too!

We offer 411 cards to our seniors as well! This is basically like a business card for seniors. You have your name and photograph on the front, and important information like you cell phone number, email address, MySpace account, and Facebook account on the back! So your new friends can now put a name with the face, and actually contact you!

TRASH THE FORMAL

Yeah, I know, the summer is gone, but that doesn't mean that we can't dream about the warm months coming in 2009. Want an unusual and fun way to cool off that will have all your friends talking?? We have both a nice, clean water gardens location, and a muddier, rockier creek location we can go to.
